Stacey’s education, work and volunteer experience has given her some valuable skills needed for her position at the club. She has 30 years of accounting experience, 15 of those years split as an IT Manager. Stacey and her husband Mark moved to North Bay 7 years ago. They love to fish, hunt, and bike. They signed up for curling, a game they knew nothing about, to meet new people. Stacey fell in love with the sport, curling up to 5 times a week, volunteering as a Director both at the FWWCC and the GSOC in North Bay and now working as the General Manager. They have four daughters (and now 3 beautiful grandchildren) that kept her in a volunteer world for 15 years coaching and managing Soccer and Hockey teams travelling to Ohio, Michigan, all over Ontario and as far as PEI. Being a leader both in sports and on the job taught her first and foremost that for a team to be successful, respect has to go both ways. Together with her team, her love for the game and the club, they will work to make the North Bay Granite Club, both Curling and Tennis, the place to be!
Laura has a combination of academic and professional experience that will allow her to make a positive contribution to the North Bay Granite Club. Laura completed her Master of Human Kinetics in Sport Management at the University of Ottawa where she gained experience with various organizations including the Ottawa Sports & Entertainment Group, Canadian Armed Forces Sports Program and the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany. Prior, Laura attended Nipissing University where she earned her Bachelor of Physical and Health Education degree. Her community involvement in North Bay includes playing for Nipissing Lakers Women’s Hockey Program, conducting many research related projects within the youth sport community and acting as a volunteer hockey coach with the North Bay Ice Boltz. Laura looks forward to contributing towards the growth of curling and tennis in North Bay.

Member of the North Bay Granite since 2014. National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Level Competition Coach. Proud wife and mother of three children. My Grandfather introduced me to curling at age 5 at the Prescott Curling Club. I have enjoyed several opportunities through curling competitively, some highlights being a silver medal at the Canada Winter Games for Team Ontario in Bathurst, NB and winning the Junior Toronto Curling Association earning a trip to Switzerland.
Most recent curling accomplishments are playing vice on Team Northern Ontario at Mixed Nationals 2020 in Saguenay, QC. Privileges such as Brockville and Area Sports Hall of Fame Inductee, recipient of Quest for Gold Bursary, and the camaraderie of teammates are all memorable. Being involved, working with our Granite Members and community dignitaries sharing with them my passion and love for the sport of curling is the best job ever.
