Laura Johnston hired as Regional Curling Professional

We are super excited to share that our search to appoint North Bay’s first-ever Regional Curling Professional has resulted in the hiring of Granite Club member Laura Johnston!

Laura (right) is a former Ontario Winter Games champion Skip and the reigning Northern Ontario Mixed Champion. Johnston looks forward to building the sport of Curling in North Bay and surrounding areas through increased programming and better preparing participants for reaching their desired outcomes.

We are also enthusiastic about a partnership we have embarked on with Master Coach Developer Glenn Cundari of Coach Plus to mentor our Pro through this novel venture.

Cundari (left) has previously been named the Coaching Association of Canada’s Coach Developer of the Year, a top 50 golf instructor in Canada, and Head Golf Coach of Team Canada at the Special Olympics World Games this year.

Laura will officially begin work on October 7th.
