Brown to Challenge East Qualifer

The North Bay Granite Club’s resident men’s curling team participated in the NOCA Men’s West Qualifier at the Port Arthur Curling Club in Thunder Bay January  7th – 10th and was inched out of a berth to the Traveler’s Men’s Provincial coming to North Bay February 10th – 4th, 2016.

Jeff Brown, Gavan Jamieson, Steve Decary, and Mark Brown opened the event with two wins and were demonstrating a great deal of promise knowing that three wins would likely mean tiebreakers while four wins would qualify them to a hometown provincial.

Unfortunately three of their four remaining games were lost by one point and one in was in an extra end. Fortunately they will have one last kick at the can when the East Qualifier gets underway January 21st at the Idylwylde Golf and Country Club in Sudbury. Regular lead, Bobby Ray, will rejoin the rink for this event.
